I have a ready puzzle to go but wait until Satchi's puzzle answer is published. It looks like most solved Satchi's puzzle. If anyone else is already waiting to publish a puzzle, please go ahead.
Wow! That was super fast. The answer is Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. As Surekha has said pics 7,8,9 and 2 spell out the name Mahatma - Jyoti - BA - Phule. :-D He was a dalit (in fact the world 'dalit' was coined by him), his forefathers were florists and hence the name "Phule". He was born in Satara district. He worked for a while as a contractor for the govt. and supplied building materials for the construction of Khadakwasla dam. His biggest contributions to society was his battle agains the caste system, his work for the upliftment of widows and education of women. He was the founder of the Satyashodhak Samaj. I would not hesitate to say he laid the foundation for change which has brought us here today!
Dear Satchi, I was worried that my answer wasn't right as you have not acknowledged my cryptic note about Bharathiar's statement "Jadhigal Illayadi Pappa" meaning "There is no caste in humanity". :boo:
Dear Viswa, To be honest, I did not understand it, my Tamil being limited to spoken, colloquial language. Wanted to check Google for it but was away at work 8 hours today and got back only at 5. Thanks for the translation. Waiting for your puzzle.
@Gowri, Formal congratulations to you and I believe Malathy made the right choice. Hopefully, you can not only make this thread fly but also "English Matters". In my view, these are the most critical threads in E & PG. I hope it doesn't take away your limited time moderating so many threads within E & PG. I am getting little possessive about this thread.thinkingsmiley @Rihana, you please stay out of commenting on my last sentence.notdonesmiley Viswa
Satchi, No big deal. I did give the translation in my note for others to understand. Somehow, I got the impression that you knew written Tamil. My fault. Viswa
