This India theme was a good idea - so many memories! Haven't thought about this person for --- well forevvvverrr!
Your lovely snippets are keeping your neurons occupied. As long as you can devote a handful to googling you're golden. Take a look at the primer link in my signature if you want some examples on how to tackle these puzzles. Hint: For JAG's puzzle just plug in the most obvious keywords from the bottom 2 images that pop up in your head and your answer will be the first link on the page.
Wait, Romila Thapar wrote your textbook? Really? Or did you actually read the two-volume Percival Spear / Thapar edition? That would impress me no end! Fancy pants school that would be. My boring books were written by some godforsaken committee - droning on about facts and dates. Although, I now find that I remember so much of it t - Vasco da Gama lands in Calicut, the Portugese land in Goa, Sepoy Mutiny, Battle of Plassey - that I find they are good for passwords ... with appropriate strengthening of course, so don't get any ideas!
Mine too! NCERT. Their books are available online for free now! http://ncert.nic.in/ncerts/textbook/textbook.htm
:bonk Initially, didn't get the link of second clue to the answer. Reason is so weird - we had a teacher with the winning name. And such a great teacher... that name became synonymous with the teacher! Who is who's namesake!!! ==================== Romila Thapar textbook - it was 6th or 7th grade, very very regular school. I recall a thick book, many many hundred pages, greyish cover, and her name at the bottom of front cover. ".something something by Romila Thapar". Not sure if written/reviewed/.... what by her. Our teacher used to take her time settling down in class, adjusting her saree, taking out the eraser (duster), chalk .... we used to bide the time looking at book cover and talking with fingers covering the lips. : )
@sokanasanah I never heard about it ' Hedge of India'. Well history definitely is not my cup of tea. Or may be I was sleeping? I can still remember how glad I was when I took up different group in high school. Enlightening to find the answer. Thanks

I wish I know what the bottom left image is. I am very bad with places and identifying image clues and I realized it after participating in the puzzles. I was lucky I got a verbal clue for Soka's puzzle. Viswa
The link to the previous puzzle is A.O.Hume's involvement => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_Octavian_Hume#Theosophy I didn't get the last image. Googled 'india russia new york helen' and the first hit is wikipedia's page for Helena B.
