    How can an entire hedge disappear from history books! Or was it never in them to begin with. I have to go check who wrote the textbooks... I recall Romila Thapar, but higher grades had books by other writers, I think.

    With this puzzle, I ended up reading both wiki entries and the description in amazon. Fascinating to learn tid-bits one didn't know, and also when long forgotten names like A.O. Hume pop up. He was part of the hedge growing group, and also known as one who questioned British policies!

    I think I got Viswa sir's puzzle. Connection to India - Arya Samaj? Shall wait for him to post the answer.

    Regarding the Hedge I remember A.O. Hume, Dandi March, Salt tax but not the Great Hedge ... But good to know.

    Hmmm, I think not - Less Dayanand and more Koot Hoomi of the Himalayan Brotherhood. :rotfl

    @jskls,

    Yes. There is a connection with Arya Samaj but it is secondary. If you like to validate your answer you can look at the picture clue of the place given by JAG and verbal clues of the person given by Gauri and Deepslikes.

    Well the Arya Samaj connection was definitely there, just not the primary connection.

    If you're hoping for the next puzzle from OP, please to excuse. :hide: My puzzle is still stuck in my synapses, struggling to assume digital form. I'm positive one of you good samaritans will save the day. ;)

    Sure yes, I was focusing on the person and the primary connection, since the puzzle emphasizes that - especially since DS did not approve of our quiz-answer-person!
