    Aria is referring to my post #259, that originally included this image.
    Hmm disappeared from my browser too, probably some IL limit.
    So,here it is again. If recognition is not instant, then don't bother. The picture itself won't lead to a solution. This image refers to the same, difficult to pictorialize, word as the 'helicopter' image - both indirectly.

    The following is not relevant to the puzzles...

    I'm calling these my running ruminations. Yesterday, while running, I was thinking of this thread, and where my love of trivia began. I can't remember when I became the sort of person who likes to tuck away irrelevant facts in nooks and crannies of their mind, only to experience the later (hopefully public) triumphant recall. Perhaps it was my parents' pride-filled and incredulous "How on earth do you know that?" reaction that fueled the addiction. I was a fixture of my school and college quiz teams, and most of the preparation involved buying humongous, 'general knowledge' books and cramming them into my brain. Contextless, mindless memorization, that's all it was. The answer would magically appear upon hearing the right incantation.

    It's only in the last two decades of reading, listening, traveling and interacting, that I have made personal associations with those disparate facts. The act of living has added context to otherwise meaningless information. This thread is the very antithesis of my early quizzing days. Context is everything. There isn't one specific official interpretation of the clues. Our paths to the solution start from what we know and meander through our highly individual experiences to the ultimate answer. Even our Google searches are unique. Lack of participation not withstanding, this is, in my opinion, one of the most eminently readable threads on this forum, and none of the credit is mine. :)

    Loved every letter in that spirit of yours! Aye, see I am packing stuff and still here, tells you what? To be frank I am always a click away from moving out of IL, and to be very honest with you, this threadbare thread is the only thing that is tying me to IL today.

    Out of curiosity , was there another contender to this puzzle, as a red herring?

    Once you know the answer, here are some interesting links - don't look if you are still 'puzzling'!

    No, I try not to mislead, at least not intentionally! I want it to be fun, not frustrating. Challenging and simple at the same time is the mantra. The goal is for at least one person to get it. If no one gets it, then I consider my design to be a failure.

    As what I thought is not the right answer, posting in plain text

    You know how much I love my twisted brain! ;-)

    I cracked the puzzle as "Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens on first read

    Opening line:

    It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way (hell?) --in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

    Clue#1

    The contrasting images that you have posted fit so perfectly, I recalled that this novel had similar great opening, then I rushed to check this line and voila!

    Clue#2

    The words were staring at me in the images.

    York Cathedral = faith, belief
    Sun= light
    Winter = winter, darkness
    Dad bouncing the kid up in the sky in joy= heaven
    Helicopter , Hel - i- copter , Hell = other way

    Clue#3

    Composite image, wanted to upload more images, whoa , in that opening line, you could have uploaded atleast 20 images.

    Bonus Image: Do I even have to mention how perfectly it fits in the theme of the novel , death begets life, Sydney Carton, eh?
