I've been following repeat of Rick Stein's India tour on BBC. When the theme music plays here (Rick's India & I Love Curry), I wonder what language is that, Konkani folksong, Nagaland music, Dravidian hymn, what is that?

Today I searched on the web for music score of the series and finally found the answer to the puzzling lyrics.

Listen to the preview of first two songs in the playlist (Rick's India & I Love Curry) and tell me were you able the recognise the chorus? ;-)

    Solution for #Who is he?

The answer to the rhyme was the VOYAGER space mission, i.e., Voyager 1 and 2.

Two travelers set out on a singular excursion,
pioneers forging a path to an unknown destination

Two Travellers was a pretty literal clue to the two voyager crafts. Traveler is simply another word for voyager. Singular excursion was a reference to the unprecedented nature of their mission, which was to study the planetary systems of Jupiter and Saturn, which was later expanded to include the outer solar system. They are pioneers because they have traveled 'farther than anyone or anything in history'.

sailing past wanderers gripped in a sinuous dance,
bearing their lustrous cargo across the chilly expanse

The word planet is of Greek origin and literally means wanderers. The sinuous dance is their elliptical revolution around the sun. Lustrous cargo was a reference to the gold-plated audio-visual disc carried by both crafts.

a message in a bottle, a missive through time,
salutations encoded in rhythm and rhyme

The disc was included as a message from earth to intelligent alien life. It includes greetings in 55 different languages, photographs of life on earth, scientific information and a collection of music from different cultures. One of the songs on the disc is 'Jaat Kahan ho' sung by Surshri Kesarbai Kerkar. Consider this humbling thought — this composition in raag Bhairavi is now traversing through interstellar space!

Relentlessly they march, pushing into the dark,
heralds of our realm, leaving our farthest mark.

Both Voyager crafts are still operational and sending back data as they fly deeper into our galaxy (Voyager II is still within our sun's heliosphere). They are our message bearers, and leaving humanity's footprints farther than anything ever in our entire existence.

The image should have been simple to crack once the rhyme was solved. The most important man associated with the Voyager program is Edward C Stone, who was the project scientist for both Voyager missions. Along with the Voyager missions, he was the project scientist for many other well known NASA missions, as well as the director of NASA-JPL at Pasadena.

Usually happens when images are above a certain size. IL doesn't seem to like images sized in MBs. Try resizing it.
