Why I chose: My local library was hosting '1001 series' fest with neatly shelved books from the publication adorning as you enter. I picked the '1001 books one must watch before you die'. Amidst the scowl from my domestic help that she had to keep moving the hefty book here and there, I only flipped the first few pages multiple times. The evolution of motion picture — the silent era, the visionaries and the thespians who lit the celluloid screen. D.W Griffith and Lillian Gish (First Lady of American Cinema) made up a lot of those pages but here is America's sweet heart , 'Mary Pickford' — the gutsy, the hussy, the pixie, the coquette . Most of the movies from silent era are in public domain now , even the first talkie 'Jazz Singer'. Want to get a piece of how empowering expressions are to voice, you need to watch the epic 'Intolerance'.


What I chose: Mary Pickford was a legendary screen actress from the silent era who established United Artists to thresh creative rights for distribution to production. While she was married to Douglas Fairbanks, the couple enjoyed swooning admiration of the nation hosting Gatsby styled parties at their residence called "PickFair". Some of her famous movies — Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1917), Poor Little Rich Girl (1917), Polyanna (1920) and Little Lord Fauntleroy (1922).

 

Has anyone noticed the delay and unresponsiveness of the server when logging to the site these days? It is taking me good 2 minutes to log in (with occasional log outs, the server kicks me out 2/3 times before it accepts my credentials)


Wondering has anyone observed this , been happening since , I don't know , may be the new layout of the site. Or is it just my connection ?

 

yes, a new clue, please. I have no idea what to search for...

 

Multimedia, sweetie!, I'm unable to add even hypertext to a link because of my reduced privilege (think so). The lag or routing is kicking me out of the site as soon as I log in and then relogin , relogin and it works the 3rd or 4th time. Can live with the lag, but I still have no clue how to navigate the site with least clicks, when I click 'Forum' it takes me to home page, I think previously it listed sub-forums, same thing happens when I click 'Explore', rather any tab on the home page redirects me to something else (confused) . May be I am doing something wrong, these days I click on 'My Posts', Select 'Education and Growth', blessing for me , reducing my peek-a-boo in other forums (wicked smile).
