Yummy Kheers and Payasams

    Fruit Payasams

    We can prepare Prepare Yummy Payasams by using Fruits. Many people like these kind of payasams. But up to me, I feel these payasams are resembling Fruit Milk Shakes. :tongue
    :yes:Here is the list of furits, Apple, Sapota, Orange, Fig and Banana.

    Ingredients:

    Any one of the above fruit's pulp 1 cup
    Sugar 2 cup
    Full cream milk 2 cups
    Condensed milk 1 cup
    Essence according to the fruit. few drops

    Method:

    Boil and Reduce the milk into half.
    Add condensed milk and sugar.
    Remove from the fire and add the fruit pulp.
    Mix well.
    You can add colour and flavour of the fruit to increase the taste.
    Serve hot or chill as per your taste.

    Note: You can add crushed and fried cashew nuts or saffron strings in payasam.

    Veg. Payasams

    Like fruits we can use some vegetables to make payasam. The veg.are Potato, Sweet Potato, Peas, chow chow, bottle gourd, carrot, beet root, Mixed veg. like carrot and beet root.

    Ingredients:

    Any one of the above veg. 1 cup
    Full cream milk 2 cup
    Condensed milk 1/2 cup
    Sugar 1 1/2 cup
    Cardamom powder 1/2 sp
    Fried cashewnuts 1 sp

    Method:

    Wash and clean the selected veg. and cook it well.
    Mash and keep aside.
    Boil milk and reduce it, till it becomes half.
    Add cooked and mashed veg.pulp and mix well.
    Bring it to a boil.
    Add condensed milk, and mix well.
    Add sugar and mix well.
    Add cardamom powder and remove from the fire.

    Note: After cooking the veg. you can put them in a mixer grinder and use.

    u r killing me with ur recipes............i cant resist.......:tongue:tongue:tongue......where are u now..when can i come to ur place.............hope u will definiely make me atleast half of the dishes u have mentioned in ur thread.....Big LaughBig LaughBig Laugh.......and i think iam going to eat like...." kalyana samyal saadam ......" rangorao range......:yes::exactly:.

    will surely try something and give FB.... DEAR........BUut in my house we ALL like spicy items only.so will try some other recipe of urs.........but i like payasams and kheers v v much........so u cn prepare for me

    Can u pls guide me wat is the tamil/english name for 'sarai parapu' and also i want to know wat is "Kis Mis" .....

    Really wat to try some of our varities ....

    Dearest Krishnamma,

    I enjoyed reading all your recipes and tried my hand at Semiyan and Sago Payasam. It tasted very good. I called up my mother who is currently visiting the Somnath temple in Gujarat and she was very happy.
    Hope to prepare something for her when she comes back maybe something special for holi from your wide array of payasums. Guess I cannot thank you enough!!

    :thankyou2:very much dear. I am now in Saudi, after returning to India, I will make a call to you. That is all, you fly to Bangalore. I will cook and cook and cook ................ You can eat, eat, eat.....................and eat. OK ya?
    I toll like spicy food. But here in forum you have to give medium 'hot' items only. Because the beginners will sturggle to adjust the recipe. So, what type you want tell me Let me start a thread "Latha's Special":thumbsup

    In Tamil we call the item as 'sarai parupu' I dont know what they call it in English. let me search and tell you.
    And 'Kis mis" means dried grapes. ok?

    Sarai parapu means Charoli/Chironji in Hindi.

    English Name: Chirauli nut tree

    Botanical Name: Buchanania latifolia

    Common Indian Name: Chiraunji
