Tandoori Idli

    Here is the simple recipe for Tandoori IDLI....
    I have taken from my Hubby's Blog HOUSEMEALand posted here....

    dly - 4 nos (cut into 1 inch cubes)
    Onion - 2 nos (Cut in long slices)
    Green chilly - 2 nos
    Ginger - 1 inch cube cut into small pieces
    Milk - 50 ml
    Coconut Oil - 3 table spoon
    Curry leaves - to taste
    Salt - to taste
    Colour Powder.

    Method of Preparation

    Heat the coconut oil in Kadai and add chopped onion, curry leaves, ginger and green chilly, saute for few minutes. Add milk and color powder and when cooked add milk and saute for 2 mins. When aroma starts, add Cut Idly pieces, salt and mix it throughly. Add salt to taste and fry for a minute. Serve Hot

    Hi Mala,
    The recipe looks nice and tasry. I have visited the blog as well, and there are a lot of tasty dishes given there. Thanks a lot. But according to me, the nomenclature of the dish has to be changed, because 'tandoori' refers to items that have been baked in a proper tandoor oven.

    He use to cook these stuffs in different methods....
    Often he uses the Tawa which is used for making Fried Rice and Noodles.. which u can see in almost all Fast Food centres....He only knows that technique how to handle that Tawa..

    Once i tried to make, but cud not handle the tawa, as it was little weight to catch it....

    Your tandoori idli recipe is nice and the image makes mouth watering. I'm going to try this for my son coz he hates idli as it is and he may like this for sure. thanks for the post.
