Re: cooking Lot of recipes posted by Chitvish and Krishnamma in IL. You can check that. You can soak and cook legumes like channa, dried yellow or green peas, etc adding salt. for 1 cup of legume chop onion 1-small, coriander leaves finely chopped - 2 tsp, one small tomato finely chopped, 1 garlic clove - grated, green chillies finely chopped, tamarind chutney, chat masala, lemon juice few drop. mix everything in a bowl and serve. (optional : sprinkle sev on top) Masala Pakoras : Soak urad dal for 15 minutes. Grind coarsely without water. mix chopped onion, ginger, coriander leaves, hing and green chillies, salt. mix well and drop little by little in hot oil. for variation, put coriander seeds or saunf to the batter. Masala Papad : Roast lijat papad on tawa or fry in oil. chop onion, green chilli, tomato and coriander leaves, finely. arrange papad in a plate. Sprinkle the chopped items over it. sprinkle a pinch of chat masala and serve. Healthy Chutney Sandwich for children, you can toast and give them. You can give them pancakes (adding different fruits) or vegetables. Pastas home made are healthy ones. Frankies or Kati rolls are also healthy option
EASY , QUICK AND FILLING SNACKS FOR CHILDREN. (sweet) Take one laddle of sugar,(50 to 100 gms. as needed) in a vessel and add sufficient water; make light jeera and keep it aside for about three to five minutes. (Decide the thickness of jeera yourself). Add a drop or two of rose essence. Toast three or four slices of bread , simultaneously, on a tawa (hot plate/dosaikkal) , adding one or two tablespoonful of ghee to both sides of the slices, and transfer them to a plate, slices lying one by the side of the other. With the ladlle , take the jeera sufficiently and pour it on the bread slices , in and around the borders also. Give it to your children, when the slices are hot; slices will taste like Hot Gulabjamuns. I will be happy to know the feedback. Please give.
In my reply made yesterday please take JEERA=syrup made out of sugar and water, as we call it in Tamilnadu.
Hi Deepti came across u wen I was looking for some same options . didn't get many..So I decided to tell what I mk wen my hubby asks me 4 a quickiesnack... Dish : CHILRA (some call it PUA) 1)Take 3 - 4 table spoon of gram flour, add black pepper, cumin seeds n salt as per ur taste . 2) Add water and make a paste. shouldn't be very thin 3)Add some chopped onion n green chilli 4) Heat the tawa and pour one teaspoon oil on tawa 5) spread the batter evenly. 5)Bake from both the sides This CHILRA helps mirraculously if suffering from COLD. And adding Red chilly powder makes it too heavy to digest. njoy it with green chatni or sauce:coffee
just my thoughts here.... can try making onion pakoda and add to veg curries... like ladies finger, cabbage etc.. kids will enjoy eating... the veggis this way...
