Friends, Am really bored of normal idly and tried something different this time.Though my hubby likes traditional breakfast i like western too.so i liked this one which combined both indo western styles This tastes really good and believe me you will like it alot What you need: ---------------------- 1 Cup Urad Dal 3 Cups Idli Rava Salt to Taste Methi seeds - 4 Spinach leaves Green chillies - 5 Very finely chopped carrot - 1/2 of the bowl Ghee - 2 spoons Spinach paste ----------------- Wash and clean palak.Drain all the water in the palak.Cut palak and boil it. Squeeze the water and keep aside. After that spinach, green chillies,salt are grind with mixie jar. Heat the pan and add 1 spoon of oil and pour the mixture to pan and then fried for some time. after some time the water of the spinach will be evaporated. Remove from stove and then take it into one bowl. Wash and Soak Dal in a bowl about 3 hours. Wash Idli rava 3-4 times. Pour some water allow it to soak for 2 hours.Grind Urad dal to a smooth thick paste by using water. (the dough should drop from the scoop).Take the dough into a big deep vessal. Drain all the water out from the Idli Rava. Put Rava into Idli dough,add salt,and Mix well. Then cover the bowl nad keep it in a warm place. Leave it for 7-8 hours. Once it fermented, it is ready to make idlis. You can make idlis any time. Rest of the dough you can keep in the refrigerator. Take idli stand grease idli plates with ghee or oil, pour the 1/2 spoon of chopped carrot into idli plate and then 1/2 spoon of the dough pour into layered and then take spinach paste and then applied same like as layer and 1/2 spoon of the dough pour into layered.its look like 1 by 1 layer. Put idli stand in a steamer and cook about 20-25 minutes. Check idlis with wet hand it should not stick to your hand. Sandwich idlis are ready. These idlis are very special. So appearance of serving is also very important. Do some decoration and then serve. If Idlis are cut with knife then it looks like sandwich.YOu can also use tomato slices which taste good. Serve hot with Sambhar, coconut chutney, ginger chutney. Let me know how you liked it
