    Dhal - Alu tikki - with moong dhal.

    Aloo Tikki with Moong Dhal filling

    Outer cover:

    Make a dough with:

    Boiled, peeled & well mashed potatoes - ½ kg

    Bread slices - 4 (make fresh crumbs)

    Chopped green chilies, coriander leaves + salt

    Filling:

    Moong dhal - 3 tbsp soaked for 1hr & cooked grainy.

    Drain well.

    Heat oil - 1 tsp

    Add

    Jeera - 1 tsp

    Finely chopped green chillies - 1 tbsp

    amchur powder - 1 tsp

    Drained dhal
    Salt

    Finely chopped coriander leaves

    Stuff filling as shown in the photo.

    Shallow fry, using little oil.

    Serve with sweet chutney & curds.

    Paneer-Alu Tikki - for those who love paneer!!

    Aloo Tikki with Paneer filling

    The outer dough is the same as above.

    For the filling, saute in 1 tbsp oil:

    Jeera - 1/2 tsp

    Minced green chillies - totaste

    Grated paneer - 1 cup

    Amchur powder/chaat masala - 1 tsp

    Chopped coriander leaves

    Salt.
