A friend from Delhi shared a recipe.. am going to try out tomorrow and shall post photos... Moong dal - 1 cup (soak in water for 2-3 hours) Salt turmeric powder 1/4 tsp sugar 1 tsp Ginger Green chillies -as per you need oil - 1 tsp Eno fruit salt (plain) not flavoured Curd -a little lemon juice Grind the soaked moong dal +curd+ ginger+ chillies+salt+sugar+turmeric powder The batter should be just like idlibatter Grease a big vessel which you can steam. smear with 1 tsp ghee for better taste. Pour the moong dal batter in the greased vessel. keep the cooker/steamer ready with boiling water. Add the eno fruit salt only now to the batter and whisk well moving your spoon only in one direction. Place the batter vessel inside the steamer/cooker just like idli for 10-12 minutes. Tempering: fry Mustard seeds, curry leaves in 1 tsp oil. add 1/2 cup water to this and 1 tbsp sugar. Let Boil for 1 minute. switch off the stove. add lemon juice to the sugar solution. Keep ready. Open the steamer/cooker and turn the greased vessel upside down on a plate....like cake. Cut into pieces and arrange on a plate. Pour the mustard curry leaves sugar lemon solution over the pieces so that the pieces absorb the liquid....this keeps it soft for a longer time... you can just temper without sugar solution also but tends to become dry soon she said. serve hot with mint chutney/tomato sauce/coriander chutney.

ENO is a range of antacid products that treat the symptoms of heartburn and gastric discomfort. over here we get it as Adem sari which is just like eno salt. Eno fruit salt is available in grocery stores/medical shops. It basic purpose is to get relief from acidity. It is kind of a home made soda. Just add half a tablespoon to a glass full of water and let it bubble a bit, drink it immediately and pretty soon we get relief from acidity. It is very handy after those spicy dinners after which you feel the need to calm your stomach acids. It reduces the stomach bloating and the burning sensation in the easophagus. Eno is a mixture of soda bi carb and citric acid in required proportions. When it gets mixed with water the bubbles of co2 gets produced which relieves gases. The soda neutralizes the acids in the stomach. It is safe to drink.
