Vaidyanatha slogam. Hi, Somebody ( I think Suba ) had asked for a small slogam for chanting for their deity, Lord Vaidhyanathar. I came across one in some site , don't know which one. It is given below : VAIDYANATHA The name means Lord of the doctors (a form of Shiva) and prayer to him is supposed to help in curing of diseases. He is the presiding deity in Vaitheeswaran Koil ,This temple also houses a separate temple for Chovvai. It is believed that Lord Rama performed the obsequies to Jadayu in this place. " Sri Rama Soumithri Jadayu Veda shadadanadithya Kujarchithaya, Sri Neela kadaya dhaya mayaya Sri Vaidyanathaya Namasivaya. " Meaning : My salutations to the great Lord Shiva,Who is the chief among all physicians, Who has been worshipped by Rama , Lakshmana and Jadayu, And who has also been worshipped by Vedas, Subrhamanya, Sun and the mars. Hope this is useful .
Vidya, at your service, Madam ! I am specially posting this photo on your request. The flower kept in front of the deity is made of crystal. Since fresh flowers may not be always available, I always keep this in the puja, for my own satisfaction. The gold Kamakshi Vilakku is kept as an offering - I never light this since it will turn black. The crystal bell with an angel on top is a gift, my daughter got me from Dubai, once for my birthday. I like the idea of keeping a bell in my puja room. I consider the angel as my guardian angel who always protects me from evil deeds & thoughts. In front of the bell is a crystal pyramid. Pyramid shape has enormous energy & I believe in the positive energy in the puja room increasing manyfold with the help of the pyramid. So I have kept it there. When you live abroad, you may come across many such things, which don't hesitate to buy. When you need them, you cannot go searching for them. Love & regards, Chithra.

Thulasi Nithya Puja Format - Part 1 The word “ thulasi” mean “ unparalleled”. For this puja “ Krishna thulasi” or “ Karunthulasi “ plant is more auspicious. If this is not available, the ordinary thulasi plant may be worshipped. This puja is done to the plant. The plant should be kept in a place where there is good sunlight and ventilation. If you are doing puja to the plant, the leaves should not be plucked. The traditional rule is, ladies should not pluck thulasi leaves. ( I do not think, this is possible in the present day.) It is not advisable to pluck leaves from the plant to which puja is done. You may have another one separately for that. Thulasi plant should not be touched on “ Dvadas(h)i “ day. Thulasi leaves should not be plucked on Tuesday, Friday, Dvadas(h)I, first day of every month ( known as masa pirappu ). Face East or North and do the puja.
