Thank you, Mrs Chithra Dear Mrs Chithra, Thanks for all slokams especially the last three. Shall learn them by heart and chant them. May I ask, how did u learn all these? Are there classes in Chennai for slokams etc? Thanking you Sincerely Vidya
No classes, Vidya ! Dear Vidya, Shlokam collection & chanting have been my hobby next only to recipe collection & cooking ! I have been collecting over the years & now the problem is, taking time to identify in which note book, I have written it down ! Anyway I L helps me enjoy both my hobbies - thanks to everyone of you ! Love & regards, Chithra.
wasn't aware of these.... Dear Chitra, thanks a million for sharing so much info on using salt. I never knew it properly and I've been using kitchen vessel for keeping the salt and used to keep it whole night & throw it only in the morning and I've been using the vessel back in the kitchen. maybe, your method seems perfect instead. I'll definitely go for the mopping idea; that sounds good. there's so much I've got to learn.. and with you around, I feel happy.
Thank you,Mrs.Chithra and Vidya! Dear Mrs.Chithra, I asked for one but i got three.I remembered my grandfather chanting the second slokam during "Arathi".Now,i will chant it religiously! Thanks a lot. Vidya, Thank you not just for the slokam but also for elaborating it with such clarity.I get weighed down with negativity so easily.I will chant this everyday putting all my faith in it. Thanks again, Suba.
Dear Chitra, I am also noting down all the lovely slokams...just wondering when i can make time to learn them by heart. that is really wonderful....thanks a million.
An open letter to Chitra! Dear Chitra, We IL’ites must be a lucky lot. I foresee great things for this site, not only because so many highly talented and helpful members that seem to frequent this site, but also because of this latest forum that has been started on Religious and Spiritual matters. Because of this, valuable Slokams are appearing here and it is being propagated and extolled by many eager members. Besides that, authentic and easy to follow Pooja Format for everyone to follow easily is being served on a ‘pooja platter’ lovingly by the same person who until now served delicious delicacies in IL. Add to it the challenges to intellect you provide in the form of ‘Book-review’, ‘Introduction to the book’ and ‘Literary Criticism’ to quote Ambika ! Chitra, you are invaluable to this site. Before you start protesting, let me add that even I agree that there are many many more talented members here enriching us with their contributions. Too many to mention by name. But you seem to possess a lot more facets which is simply impossible to ignore. I am in awe of you! That said, I proceed to print out your valuable pooja vidhanams and the various slokas. Later I might look up a couple of your recipes to cook and then will sit back and proceed to read one of your write ups on a book and unwind!! My regards to you. Cheers, Kamla.
Kamla, You know I will protest ! Dear Kamla, I fully agree with you that the " religious & spiritual discussions" forum is very enjoyable as well frequented by many members of I L . Living in Chennai through out, I have had the opportunity to learn so many things which are part of our cultural heritage - hence I have a large collection of puja formats & shlokams & what better platform than this to share that with everone ? Please do not mistake me as an intellect just because I " dabble" my hands in the literary forum ! I just enjoy doing that - I know I am nowhere near the literary giants in this forum, but still I am taking part for my own pleasure. Please believe me when I say that I have always been an introvert most of my life & have nursed a complex that I am not good like X or Y - suddenly, after entering I L , I seem to have broken out of that complex on my own, thanks to God's Grace. Now all I want to do is, sharing whatever I know ( this has a lot of limitations, as well, ) with my dear friends here on any subject, that I am comfortable with. More than my contributions, the goodwill I have earned after coming here, from all of you, would not have been possible without my interactions in 2, 3 forums ! Love & rgards, Chithra.
Friends, I need feedback to go ahead. Dear Friends, I have been posting less common shlokams by transliterating them. I want to know, if you are all able to read them confidently & find them useful. All that I posted yesterday are shantimantras from vedas & are very potent. For a few, I have the meanings only in tamil - I do not want to introduce my own translation. My postings will continue after I hear from you - there is no point in my posting continuously, without feedbacks. Love & regards, Chithra.
