If the legend of the fountain of youth were true, we would never have had to worry about wrinkles! But alas, we all have to deal with the reality of aging, and try and postpone the onset of wrinkles for as long as possible!

The markets are flooding with anti-aging and wrinkle treatment products, all claiming to fight the signs of aging and keep your skin looking young and vibrant. It is, however, curious, that they ask users to start applying it in their late twenties!

Come on, since when did twenty somethings have to worry about aging and wrinkles? It is what we gullible women are led to believe, though.

If you do feel that your youth has begun its descent, there are safer, easier and more natural choices available. Here are some natural remedies passed down by our grannies, to whom we never really paid any heed.

Ingredients such as pineapples, lemon, honey and eggs, all have skin tightening properties. If you want to keep your skin looking great, these homemade face packs are definitely worth a try.

1. Pineapple and Olive Oil Pack

Pineapples are rich in antioxidants that replenish your skin while olive oil helps keep it smooth and supple.

All you need to do is cut up fresh pineapple into chunks and puree it.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and apply all over face and neck.

Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

You will notice an instant difference in the texture of your skin.

2. Rice and Milk Face Pack

The starch in the rice helps to maintain skin elasticity while milk makes sure your skin doesn’t lose its softness.

To make this pack, grind 2 tablespoons rice to a fine powder, or get readymade powdered rice.

Add ½ cup of milk and a few drops of rose water to make a paste.

Apply to wrinkle prone areas such as face, neck, under eyes, hands, elbows and knees.

Leave on till pack dries and your face starts feeling taut.

Wash off with lukewarm water.

3. Glycerine and Egg White Face Pack

Egg white contains as many as 69 proteins, and important vitamins in it that help reduce wrinkles and even lighten skin tone. Glycerine will ensure that your skin remains smooth and supple.

For this mask, separate one egg white from the yolk and mix it with 1-2 tbsp of glycerine till it reaches a thick consistency.

You can add some rosewater if you can’t stand the smell of the egg.

Apply to face, neck and hands and wash off with cool water after 10 minutes.

This is a great pack to apply just before you need to head out for an event or party.

4. Lemon, Apricot and Honey Pack

Lemon juice is acidic and can be applied by itself as well.

But sometimes, its sting is too much to bear so it is best to mix it with pureed apricots and honey. Your skin will feel nourished and refreshed.
