• Perfect Your Plant Beds:

After cleaning up and categorizing, replant them in your desired spots. Add enough compost and mulch on the plant beds in order to perfect them. Mulch is a loose covering of organic or inorganic material added to the garden soils to improve the soil fertility and texture and suppress the weed growth. It protects the soil in winter and prepares it for the spring.

  • Store the bulbs:

Tender bulbs that may not survive freezing should be collected and stored along with sawdust, sand and vermin-culture after drying. If the bulbs are fine enough to resist, add extra bit of mulch and leave them.

  • Shower Individual Care:

Focus on every individual plant in your garden. Follow the right ways of protecting your shrubs, evergreens, trees, and veggies. Create a cold frame for your veggies; screen and hydrate your evergreens, save your shrubs by wrapping them in agricultural fabrics or burlaps and protect your young tree barks by using spiral tree protectors and wrap tapes. Create wind breaks where ever necessary and protect your plants.

  •  Water and Tools:

Check your water pump from freezing. Wash and clean all the gardening equipment used to clear up your garden and store them safe.

Considering these winterizing tips, prepare your garden to survive safe in the cold and blossom healthy in the spring.
