• Provide Them a Warm Bed

Sleeping on the floor may be fine during the summers. But sleeping on the cold harsh floors during winter is quite uncomfortable. Also prolonged exposure to the cold floor may make them fall sick.

You need to provide your pets with a warm and cozy bed. Most pet shops have beddings and mattresses of variety of shapes and sizes. Just choose the one that suits your fur ball the best.

If your pet does not get a warm spot at home to sleep, chances are she will look for shelter outside in places like under your neighbour’s car. Now that can be really dangerous for her.

  • Keep Your Eyes Open for Signs of Sickness

In case your pet is not feeling well, she will show ample signs of it. You will need to keep your eyes open and catch those signals.

A sick pet will usually show signs like whining, moaning, slowing down, burrowing and so on. The moment you see such alerts, you must rush her to the vet.

Do not ignore and delay the vet visit. It may become serious with time. Apart from medicines, the vet may also prescribe special diet supplements for the winter. A sick pet needs extra love and care than a healthy one.

Younger pets need more care than grown up ones, just like human babies. They are not as well equipped as their adult counterparts in fighting cold. So if you have young pups or kittens or rabbits, then you need to be extra careful with them.
